The
Grail & Seership
What is the
Grail?
The Grail has always been
regarded as a myth from the Arthurian legends, though in more recent
times and with the advent of a certain book, Mary Magdelene herself is
being promoted as the Grail!
However, despite the glamour
of the above tale, those who understand
the true tradition know the Grail to be the container
of the Soul. As such it symbolizes the search for
and realization of our Spirit.
The Grail (or causal body or lotus), is
formed when the main head centres awaken and fuse with each other. It
evolves through the positive actions, thoughts
and feelings distilled over the Soul's many incarnations in
matter. So, really we can say that it is the refined glory of the
Soul's journey through the material world.
As the Grail refines and the
individual passes through the various
major and minor initiations, the third eye, the eye of the
Soul, starts to express itself as the energy of intuitive love. As this
seership faculty develops, the seer is able to touch lives and read
motives like an open book. Intuitive love then gradually
becomes the dominant mode of understanding, communication and action in
the life of the seer. Contact with the Grail provides knowledge
about past experiences, gifts, talents and tendencies.
The Grail is the
medium through which we project and receive
energies, communications and wisdom from the higher planes of
consciousness.
As this medium develops it becomes our duty to present our
understanding in a loving way to
those who seek it. So in essence, the seer is a channel or medium for
higher
minds and a living link between the intuitive world and the
physical, emotional and mental areas of consciousness. The
emerging synergy between the head chakras leads to the phenomenon known
as the "light in the
head" and then the third eye emerges within this energy
field.
Subtle vision is an evolving
phenomenon.
Etheric vision, all the rage now with spiritual healers of various
kinds, occurs with eyes open and many people will develop this ability
over
the next few decades. It is based on prana and its relation to the
etheric planes of the physical world.
Seership is the term used to
describe the capacity to receive inflowing
energies from the intuitive plane via the crown centre and picture them
via the brow centre as clairvoyant images. The throat centre receives
these same energies in an intuitive or telepathic form. This
process usually occurs with eyes closed, though there are
exceptions to the rule.
This is how true seership
operates, whereas many psychics of the "chat line" variety, receive
energies through their solar plexus centre and
such messages are often coloured by personality and emotional
distortions
that may lead the undiscerning recipient away from the straight path.
Be aware!
"The
Soul is the eye of the Spirit."
On an everyday level it is
our eyes and mind that perceive, interpret
and understand what we see, but as the Grail becomes active it is the
Soul that takes on this function. Ultimately, in terms of
visionary levels, we have the All Seeing Eye of the Universe, the Eye
of God.
As we
awaken spiritually we have greater access to our Grail, which means the
talents and
spiritual gifts that we have developed over many lifetimes re-emerge
and can be used in
service to our fellow souls and the planet. In fact, the more we serve,
the more it
develops, refining itself into a more fitting channel for Spirit.
We
gradually become the Grail, because as we develop seership ability our
individual lives act as a receptacle into which the Waters of Life
(Spirit) can
be poured and then directed to those open to
the enlightenment and healing that comes from the Self.
A Living Tradition
The Grail tradition was
initiated by members of Hierarchy with the
Master K.H. (Koot Hoomi) and the Archangel
Michael, being the joint Keepers of the Grail. It emerged from the
earlier mysteries including the Egyptian and Manichean traditions. This
tradition has also been overseen by the Master Rakoczi, who
incarnated
as Merlin the magician. It is one of the genuine paths to
Realization. Preparation for becoming a Grail or medium is often
taught in
small groups to those who have attracted a Master's attention through
their commitment, sincerity and invocative power. Having been directed
to a senior
student of the Ashram they are then offered further enlightenment.
Preparation Needed
The attitudes needed to find
(become) the Grail emerge as we walk the
Path and they include detachment, discernment and the other values we
associate with a spiritual life. Detachment is the ability to be
dispassionate and not be carried
away by our desires and emotional reactions. Discernment is the ability
to tell when we are caught up in emotional
glamour, mental illusions or spiritual pride. Patience,
perseverance, courage and other spiritual values all help us respond to
the plethora of challenging and tempering experiences that
automatically come into play when we make the decision
to seek out the Self.
A practical approach is also
important, because paying lip service to a
tradition, but refusing to "walk the talk" of meditation, self-study
and service, tends to leave us feeling shallow and incomplete. Our
Soul transcends both mind and emotion and so without heart, the
intellect and desire take over, forming a formidable "Dweller on the
Threshold" of enlightenment.
More on Seership.
Seership is the gift
of
subtle sight and enables us to communicate with
those teachers and beings who dwell on the subtle
levels of consciousness. It includes the ability to communicate
telepathically (mind to mind), see visions, symbols and beings
with our inner sight and to experience and discern the intuitive
Truth in any situation.
As there are many denizens
on the non-physical levels of consciousness, some of whom
like to pretend to be great teachers or simply wish to cause
confusion and trouble for the seeker, it is important to be discerning
and process one's visions in the light of commonsense and humility. For
an example of how we can be fooled, see the story of my
experience of One Feather during a Trance
Mediumship course.
The central requirement in
communicating with the subtle planes is to bypass the astral plane,
the plane of desire and to only communicate with those who walk in the
Light of the Christ, the head of the Spiritual Hierarchy. Those who
work within the Hierarchy aren't bossy, egocentric and demanding,
unlike those who wish to exploit
neophytes for their own selfish motives.
Outcome
With practice and
perseverance we will eventually
find the Grail, becoming one who can channel the Waters of Life in the
form of love, light, healing, peace and other qualities
of the Spirit. Essentially, our Grail becomes magnetic and attracts the
Waters of Life which then flow into it. The Grail also has a
radiatory capacity and we can also then pour out this energy to
those in need of understanding, healing and enlightenment. It is a
constant
process of giving and receiving.
What Next?
There are safe ways to
refine the Grail and experience
the opening of the third eye. The safest way is through sacrificial
service to the Father, the One in Whom we all live and move and have
our Being. This One holds all living beings within His sphere of
influence. There is something about service that can decentralize us
from our ego, the non-self of the personality and re-orient us towards
the larger identities of family, community and world. Service
develops our
value systems and spirituality in a very natural way. It simply remains
for each of us to decide how we will serve.
At the same time
self-knowledge is important or we can get swept away
by external influences, (normally the best bit of spin that we hear on
any given day). The personality is the
vehicle we have to work through, so we have to understand it and make
it work for us. We need to be in control of it. A well trained
personality makes us an effective and useful servant and co-worker with
the Divinity.
Our development is also
hastened when we come into contact with genuine teachers who can
introduce meditation methods that lead to the
natural and safe emergence of the eye of the Soul. Teachers
are also
invaluable as they can firmly but gently challenge us when we get off
the track.
The imaginative process is
a
central part of seership development and
so visualization can aid us in developing our second sight. By
directing love and light to the planet on a regular basis we serve all
life forms; identify with the One Life and build a strong foundation
for the emergence of seership skills and activities. The
challenge is to discern the purely astral influences, which have as
their
fruits, pride vanity and emotionalism. Truly spiritual contacts and
impressions often humble our pride and bring peace, resolution
and greater depth in their wake.
