Enlightenment & Initiation

A few months ago I experienced a transformational 21 day Enlightenment process in India at the Oneness University. During this time I was initiated and empowered to offer enlightenment and healing to those who seek it. This blessing process can transfer the seed of enlightenment to others through an energy exchange that stimulates various neurobiological activities in the lobes of the brain. The process actually changes the pathways in the brain by  promoting greater activity in the frontal lobes and quietening the parietal lobes.

The experience gives you a profound feeling of intimacy with God whose Presence I saw occultly as a golden ball or sun which entered my heart and brow centres. This led to the experience of Christ Consciousness.Words cannot hope to describe the experience when the Presence anchors His life in your heart and mind. Each contact with the Presence left me with a tremendous sense of gratitude to God and the feeling of having been let in on a wonderful secret. The realisation confirmed that God is closer to you than you are to your own self.

The experience of the Self that is given through this process varies according to the readiness and maturity of the aspirant but often brings this feeling of the living, conscious Presence of the Divine. One may also experience Witness Consciousnesss where the mind becomes completely still and only the Self remains to witness life as it presents itself. All mental chatter subsides into profound silence. Both experiences carry the hallmark of peace and bliss. The other key realisation is a sense of Oneness with all life and when in this state you look at someone else you realise that person is also you.

The grace that allows this to happen also strips away the sense of ego that makes us believe we can go it alone and for me the sense of yearning that preceded my experience of the Divine shocked me by its depth and urgency. And yet you realise God has placed that yearning in you and is in fact seeking that part of Himself that dwells in you. The personality self is only a bystander. It reminded me of the comment made by a Sufi who said "Only my beloved has Substance".

There is story about a student who approached his Teacher and asked him what he needed to do to experience God. The Teacher took him to a river and held his head under the water until the boy started to struggle for air. After some time he released his grip on the poor boy, brought him to the surface and asked the lad what he had thought of while his head was under the water. The young man said he could think of nothing because he was desperately struggling for air.  The Teacher then told the boy that when he came to yearn for God as strongly as he had felt the need for air, only then he would experience Him. My experience confirmed that completely. You also realise that when you feel completely helpless God is very near.

In the next few months I will be offering this initiation process in small groups.
